  • Advanced CV Writing Workshops

    Created for students who have already prepared a CV and had it critiqued by a coach or mentor, but still have questions? The workshop would discuss the common mistakes (both in terms of the actual writing and mindset) and address questions many candidates have regarding CV writing, as well as comment on a few CVs live. In addition to providing some tips on writing cover letters and application emails. Questions that were covered:
    1)    How do I stand out from other candidates?
    2)    How do I select what to include?
    3)    Are there templates/ particular formats I should follow?
    4)    What do recruiters and interviewers usually look for?
    5)    Should I include my hobbies/ photo/ skills I’m learning but haven’t yet acquired?
    6)    Should I always send both Chinese and English CVs, as well as a cover letter?

    The primary goal of this workshop is to let candidates experience the real event and to understand their own behaviour and that of others. Case interviews are all about problem-solving skills, collaboration skills and effective interpersonal communication. Assessors are looking for interpersonal behavioural competence, and the only way to learn is to do!
    The workshop provided our students a highly realistic simulated practice, not only was there an observed group for each scenario allowing students to provide comments to each other but also post-practice offering personal feedback for targeted behavioural learning.

This session taught our students how to effectively build a strong, useful network, using actual stories of success (and failure) and the concrete lessons they provide.

    How to Secure Your Return Offer in the Midst of WFH Arrangement?

    It’s no secret that many students start their internships with one goal in mind: getting a return offer for a fulltime job. With the Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement in place at many companies under COVID-19 and the economic uncertainty, it can be hard to stand out and win an opportunity.
    Mr Steven Lui, Head of Career Coaches at HKCareers, shared tips with our students on how to plan your career and obtain a return offer in Big4, iBanks, Banking and Conglomerate etc, and through interning with companies in general.
